Parmigiano Reggiano: production plants
Thanks to various mergers over the past 15 years, the 4 Madonne dell'Emilia Dairy has expanded to the point of being one of the leading dairies in the Modena area for its size.
During an interview a few years ago, our President, Andrea Nascimbeni, declared:
Joining forces is always positive, especially in our industry. My experience comes from the Solarese Co-operative that merged with the 4 Madonne dell'Emilia Dairy thirteen years ago. I found that integrations are beneficial to all members as well as the cooperatives. Therefore, after the decision to merge with San Luca di Medolla, we also decided to incorporate the Arceto dairy. All members unanimously agreed to the decision. Now we are stronger and in addition to reducing the overall costs, we can more readily overcome the difficulties in finding milk.
The 4 Madonne dell'Emilia dairy currently produces Parmigiano Reggiano in four plants located in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
The Lesignana Dairy is the headquarters and main plant. After the earthquake, it was completely renovated and the shop has been restored and enlarged. During the restoration, energy supplies were taken from renewable sources using PV systems and condensate recovery systems to better respect the environment.
Besides Parmigiano Reggiano, our very own butter and ricotta can be purchased at the store as well as and other P.D.O. products.
